At the Pediatric Medical Group, we continue to look for innovative ways to stream line our services.

We now will be able to send your prescriptions wirelessly directly to the pharmacy. This should save you the time and frustration of a paper prescription.

It will take just a few minutes to sign up: Please navigate to www.relayhealth.com and follow the instructions to register as a new user. Unfortunately, we lack the capability to sign up for you or register you at the time of your visit, but can continue to provide you with a paper prescription, if that is your preference. Once signed up with Relay Health you will also be able to email your doctor with routine questions. Of course, please call the office directly for any urgent concerns.

Learn How to Examine Your Child’s Ears!

Some of you may recall that over the years, Dr. Berberich has taught parents how to examine their children’s ears to rule out ear infections. This can be done in groups or individually by prior arrangement. It does require two “examiners,” your child must be three years old or a very cooperative one or two year old. The instruction typically involves more than one session, lots of “homework,” and periodic reinforcement. If you are interested, contact Ellie in our office.

Many of you already know that together with Zachary Landman, Dr. Berberich conducted research evaluating a new distraction technique for children receiving injections. This has now been shown to work very well in 4-6 year old children, and Dr. Berberich is available to work with your child if he or she is anxious or frightened about shots. Older children can also avail themselves of this technique, but unfortunately, it does not seem to impress kids under the age of three or those who have trouble following directions. If you know in advance that your child is likely to be bothered by the shots he or she is scheduled to receive, you can ask to have your appointment on a day when Dr. Berberich is seeing patients in the office.
